BEETER RACING
On March 16, 2009 We left for Beatrice Neb to
go racing.  We left approx. at 10:15am.  We
were just getting comfortable and about 33
miles east of Minot we had a flat tire on the
pickup.  We pulled over to change the tire.
Aaron Leier was the driver and owned the
pickup towing our trailor.
As we were about to finish up tightening the last
lug nut Brock asked Aaron if he should go to the
drivers side of the pickup(on Hywy) and let the
jack down and Aaron(Thank God!!!) said no lets
let the jacks down at the same time due to our
heavy load.
It was a matter of seconds and the next thing I
knew ( I was in the pickup) We heard a noise
and we started moving while pickup in park and
running.  I looked at Tammy Ness(Swallers),
She was buckled up in the passengerside  front
of the pickup,  We agreed something had
seriously happened.  As we looked out the front
window we realized what had just happened as
the semi that hit our trailor went in front of us and
went into the ditch in the snow and finally
stopped.  It was moving fast.
The next thing we did is look to see if the guys
were ok and they were askng us if we were ok.
We all were ok so the guys ran over to the semi
to see about the driver and Tammy made the
call to 911.
We spent most of the day there and at Ole's
getting everything organized as we decided to
pack up again and head out on Wed evening to
go racing.
My 2006 Torrent is totaled.  As far as we could tell the race car had
some fender damage so we felt we could still race the car.  We knew
the trailor was totaled but we were not sure on the pickup as it would
not start  when they wanted to unhook it from the trailor so we could
tow them separately.  But that did not happen so they towed it all
together.
We had lots of people
helping us at the site of the
accident and at Ole's when
we needed to get things
unloaded.  I want to Thank
all of them.  It was great to
see all of them come
together to help us in our
time of need.
We are ready to again.  We had a good trip down and had
great weather until Sunday it was windy and rain coming.
We got to practice the car on Thursday and found out it had a
vibration in the rear end.  We check things over and decided
to change the drive shaft, then the gears and tranmission.
Guess what?  We still did not fix it so we gave up cause the
only thing left was to replace the rear end and we decided to
take home and turn everything into ins. co.
